This contract pays $1 if New Zealand economic growth in 2014/15 is reported in the Budget Economic & Fiscal Update 2016 to have been greater than 3.1%; otherwise it pays $0.

Judging Criteria 

This contract is concerned with data published in the Budget Economic & Fiscal Update published under sections 26O, 26P and 26Q of the Public Finance Act 1989.

It is not concerned with the Half Year Economic & Fiscal Update or the Pre-Election Economic & Fiscal Update published under other sections of the Act.

In the Budget Economic & Fiscal Update 2012, economic growth in the year to March 2011 was reported in Table 1 at http://www.treasury.govt.nz/budget/forecasts/befu2012/002.htm to have been 1.2% and this is the comparable figure that is intended to be used to judge this contract.

If sections 26O, 26P and 26Q the Public Finance Act 1989 are amended or if, for any reason, a Budget Economic & Fiscal Update is not published in the relevant year including the relevant data, iPredict will consult with the Office of the Minister of Finance and/or The Treasury to obtain information on economic growth in the relevant year with which to judge this contract.

This contract will be closed no later than 3 working days after the Close Date. The Close Date may be extended if the event outcome cannot be determined by that date.
